Meeting called to order by Jeanette Chervony, 3^rd Vice President, at 10AM, Fernandina Beach, Florida.

Members present: Jeanette Chervony,( 3^rd VP), Ray Kreiner, (Treasurer), John Moran (Secretary), Doc Bosma (Webmaster), Mike Carter, Lindsay Jones, Tony Hartley, Mike Maynard, Dave Morehead, Mark Schwartz, Warren Owens, and Lu Merritt. 

We opened with a prayer, led by Dave Morehead, and remembered Les Ward, Steve Mauer, Al Hatch, Pat Doyle, and Ben Scott, who have died in the past year.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said. 

John Moran, Secretary, presented the Minutes from the General Meeting of 2022. The Minutes were approved.

Ray Kreiner, Treasurer, presented his report, saying that it was as of August 31, 2023. We are in the black. He added that we are still due $1000 from the 2/77 for the coins from last year, which is not reflected because our Association’s tax classification does not have an “accounts-receivable” line item. Also, that the expenses being incurred at the Reunion are not shown, as they will be shown in the following fiscal year.

 

OLD BUSINESS

 Doc Bosma told us the annual cost of the Website has gone up. The motion was made to increase the authorization to $300-it was seconded and passed.

The next item was the Tuition Assistance Program. The Secretary had forgotten that Casey Mendenhall, who had volunteered to draft a set of criteria, had sent the draft to the Secretary, who had neglected to forward it to the Board for review. After talking with Casey after the Reunion, and being reminded of that, Casey sent it again, and it was forwarded to the Board..

 

NEW BUSINESS

Our Treasurer, Ray Kreiner, stated that for health reasons, he would have to give up the Treasurer duties in the near future, and asked that a replacement be found.  A request will be made to the membership. 

It was noted that one of our members, Ben Scott, had died a year and a half ago, and we had just found out. It was suggested that the members be asked to ask family members/close friends to notify the Association in the event……

The next subject was the location of the 2024 Reunion. After a few locations were mentioned, it was decided to have the Reunion in Branson, MO.  Doc Bosma, who lives in Missouri, volunteered to do the coordinating.

 

ELECTION OF OFFICERS 

Casey Mendenhall moves up to President, Gabe Garcia become 1^st VP, Jeanette 2^nd VP, and Tony Hartley was nominated for the position of 3^rd VP, and he accepted the position.  

The Board of Governors consists of: Casey Mendenhall (Pres), Gabe Garcia 1^st VP, Jeanette Chervony 2^nd VP, Tony Hartley 3ed VP, Bill Capshaw & John Garcia (the 2 most recent Presidents), Paige Lanier LNO 2/77FA, Ray Kreiner-Treasurer (non-voting). John Moran -Secretary (non-voting)

There Being no more business to be conducted, the General Meeting was adjourned at 12:00.
